So many new things!

I have been exploring and I have found some really cool things.  The first thing that I found was my thumb!  I have never really liked my pacifier, and I have always prefered one of mommy's fingers to chew or suck on.  Now that I have found my thumb, I am a great self soother.  My gums have been huring a lot lately, so mommy gave me some cold teething toys and I like to chew on them.  My favorite is still Sophie, but my Raz-berry is fun too.  I also found that our dog Gracie is soft!  She really likes it when I give her kisses and I pet her head.  Mommy doesn't like when I kiss Gracie because I get hair all over my face, but daddy thinks that it is funny.  Grace wasn't very fond of me when I first came home from the hospital, but I think that I am growing on her.  Another cool thing that I have found are my feet!  I love to lay on the ground and play with my feet.  I even try to grab my feet while I am in the bathtub.  

My favorite new thing that I found is a piano.  My friend Max has a little piano at his house and it is just my size!  I went to visit him last night and I had so much fun sitting on the floor playing with the piano!  Mommy helped me sit up because I can't do that on my own yet, but I am getting better at it every day.  Since I loved playing the piano so much, I heard mommy say that she ordered me one of my own and I can't wait to get my new toy!

First week at Tutor Time

This past week and a half has been a tough one for mommy.  Last Tuesday, I started to go to a new place to play during the day while mommy and daddy are at work.  This makes mommy sad that I am away from her during the day, but I am having a great time making new friends and playing with all of the toys.  The place is called Tutor Time and it just opened this past February.  My teacher is Ms. Sarah and she is great.  She says that I am the best baby and that she loves having me there.  I have made many new friends, but my favorite friend so far is Gage.  He is a couple of months older than me and he has been showing me the ropes.  I have my own crib to take naps in and the room that we stay in is huge and full of new toys!  There is also a special playground just for the babies that is covered in astroturf, has a big umbrella to play under, and has a play house.  We go outside whenever it is not too hot and I cannot wait until I can crawl around and play with my friends.  For right now, I sit with Ms. Sarah and talk to my friends while they play.  http://www.tutortimecanyoncreek.com/?TT=corp

Finally some real food! Yummy!!

This was such an exciting weekend! Mommy and daddy took me to Whole Foods on Saturday morning and I got to pick out my first vegetable! I picked out a bunch of carrots that looked really good and the funny green tops of the carrots made me laugh! While I took a nice nap, mommy cooked the carrots and I got to eat them when I woke up. I LOVED them! They tasted so good, that I ate everything that was on my plate and I wanted more!


After I finished eating, daddy put my swimming trunks on and we headed to the lake with my buddy Max. I really like the lake, but I am not too sure about the life jacket that I have to wear. It is not very comfortable, but mommy says that it is for my safety. Daddy played with me in the water and I had a great time, but I was ready to go home and nap after a little while. I slept 12 hours that night and when I woke up, Grandpa Russell was here! This has been such a great weekend!

Little H gets a blog

My name is Hudson Reid Russell.  I am 18 weeks old, and my mommy decided that I needed a blog so that all of my family and friends can keep up with my many activities.  I am growing and learning new things every day and I look forward to sharing my stories with you.

I was born on March 31, 2009 and I weighed 7lbs 4oz.  My mommy and daddy were so happy when I arrived that they cried as much as I did that first day!  In my first 18 weeks, I have had many milestones.  Some of my favorites have been smiling, laughing, rolling over both ways, holding my head up, telling daddy stories, singing with mommy, playing with toys, eating rice cereal, trying to feed myself, and responding to my name.  Every week is a new adventure and I will post some of the fun times that I have each week.  I hope that you enjoy my posts!
